Few weeks back i had problem of breast engorgement. One of my duct was clogged. I even caught fever and whole body was aching due to the engorgement. Asked around what should i do, mostly replied i should dap with hot towel. It was so painful to even touch it. For 2 days i was lying on my bed in pain. Uwais direct feed but didnt manage to unclog it. Sis-in-law asked around for me and contacted a family friend who is a gynae doctor (my gynae was away for umrah). Doctor is a male but i was desperate. Went to his clinic, was told engorgement smpai infection, lucky thing blum tahap pus (nanah) that required surgery. Was given antibiotic n was told not to feed uwais with the infected b00bs. i have to express the milk and throw away all milk from infected breast for 5 days till i finish my antibiotic.

Thus obviously that lead to drop in milk supply for uwais. I happen to see uwais’ paed the following day for his jab. Asked if its okay to give uwais fresh milk (coz i find that convenient…;) but doctor said it is not advisable coz the content of needed nutrition (i.e calcium, magnesium ect) is higher (not suitable for babies). I then asked the doctor, why is breastmilk sweet? He told breastmilk is sweet because of lactose. Breastmilk is up to 90% of lactose.(Yes, this was what my son’s paeds told me.)

Lactose is a disaccharide sugar formed from galactose and glucose. As we all know breast milk is the best but not everyone is bless to breast feed their child, thus the have to choose the next best milk.

Have you actually taste you baby’s powder milk. It is also sweet! In fact very sweet! no joke. Most powder milk has additional sugar as years of research showed that high percentage of Malaysian children having lactose tolerance problem when they drink powder milk, hence the addition of natural plant sugar to solve this issue in powder milk. Most mom think sugar source from natural plant source is okay, but think again. Even those with diabetic can’t simply take a large amount of fruits (despite the fruits are natural source of sugar). No doubt our growing child need carbohydrate, but do u think the added sugar in their milk is necessary?  Among the common name for sugar that are being used are natural sugars, added sugars, corn syrup solids, sucrose and glucose syrup solids. Whatever name it may be, at the end of the day it is still sugar and ends up in our child’s body. Well yes, sugar are not necessarily bad as they can help provide energy that a growing child needs. However problem occurs when the level of added sugar in the milk powder becomes excessive. This could increase risk of health problems for children. In fact this does not align with any local nor international recommendation.

In fact under the Malaysian food labelling regulation, the ‘carbohydrates per serve’ number in the Nutrition Information Panel on child’s growing milk powder is only made out of two things; sugar that is naturally present in the milk powder. And the only naturally present sugar in milk is lactose. For your information the natural lactose level in a glass of standard milk is approximatly 11g-12g per serve. Thus the bottom line is anything higher than 11g-12g is added sugar. Check the packaging Nutrition Information Panel on this (amount of carbohydrate) and be on look out for names like this in the ingredient list ; corn syrup, sucrose and glucose syrup. And yes, if you have not taste your child’s milk, it is time to do so

It’s been awhile since we balik Felda Gedangsa, last balik was when Mak Long passed away. I remembered syauqi’s cousin pesan just before we leave back for KL “mak long dah takde, jgn x dtg jumpe kak mai tau” I love going back coz that’s the only kampung we now hv for my kids. My grandpa passed away last year, rumah kampung dh dirobohkn sbb xde sape dok situ, auntie2 kt sane all staying at housing area. Thus no more kampung environment if blk Pontian.

Nway, rumah kt tg malim under renovation, kids enjoyed main pasir…pasir construction. I hv check no taik kuncung ir such thus gave green light for them to continue main.

Alhamdulillah we reached 6 years of marriage on the 3rd June n blessed with 4 kids. (n of coz i cant stop wondering how life would be if we have our late Alesya Zara with us).

Previous years we never celebrate our anniversary, maybe because it is not a norm for my parents to celebrate it thus we dont see it as necessary. or maybe because we started courting when we were 15,back then mane ade duit nak celebrate bagai..thus we ended up sticking to tat way sbb dh biasa mcm tu.

but since lately syauqi been mentioning bout the revolving restaurant at KL Tower, more of curious how the place is thus i decided to give him a treat. It wasnt easy, byk org involved in order for us to be able to hv lunch just the two of us. Mom n sis were willing to bring elder 3 out so we cn hv our lunch. Uwais alhamdulillah can take bottle feeding now, express milk n left him with maid. The minute elder 3 left the hse, told syauqi to get his shower (he was half awake,lazing on the bed). he has no idea what was going on. he asked mane kids, told him dh kuar ngan mama n hanah ( he then had the impression they kuar dulu n we meet up with them later sbb die lmbat sgt nk get ready, thus i decided to play along)

he then asked, nk pegi mane, nk choose appropriate baju. told him collared polo is good enough. then tanye pulak, “ade aircond x,nk pilih material tee” i pretended tak sure “err ntah,ade kot..mayb xde”

then masuk keta, i key in gps sbb i pun mmg xtau jalan. told him ikut je gps. he played the guessing game. memula die teka kl tower, but when gps asked to head to jln raja chulan he guess Pavillion sbb last week g Pavillion via tat road.

Best part was he has no idea mane kl tower actually, so bile dh smpai simpang kl tower he was still guessing it wrongly,smpai kt gate entrance he saw written KL Tower, baru lah tau where we were going. And till tat point he still thought we gonna join the kids. We saw a boy riding a pony mase nk park the car n syauqi said “harith ke tu?”, so i was vry confident he thought kids dh smpai dulu. tp die tanye asal kids pg dulu, i said “sbb they nak gi naik observation deck tgk view dulu”

went up to the restaurant n was given a table for two. mase smpai tu syauqi looked happy sbb mmg x penah smpai situ. he asked again “kids join x, y table for two?” kebetulan next to us ade table for 6, so i pointed to him “tu our table gak. go get ur food b4 kids smpai”. he took his first dish, pastu ade tinggal skit lg the mee kuah. he asked again “bdk join x?” by then i tot die dh budget i tipu coz i reckon he read my tweets..tgk2 he mmg expect kids ade,i replied “of coz not!!” he replied “laahh buat penat je mkn laju2, siap tinggalkn skit tuk athirah so die bleh mkn while we take food for them.”

Both of us x senang duduk kot x buat pape sbb slalu tgn handle the kids while makan. so ended up tgn dok update fb n twitter,photos of the view..hihi. After almost 2 hours, its back to reality. mom n sis dh penat trying to kill the time with elder 3 at OU. they called bgtau dh nk blk. perut kami pun dh kenyang, thus zasss we head home.

Oh boleh x, after dpt tau kids not coming, syauqi asked me… ni mkn tuk ape? saje2 mkn weekend ke anniversary? sape bayar? Haha, it feels weird i guess x penah2 celebrate anniversary..tetiba we r at a table just two of us with a spectacular view, subhanallah

A big thanks to my mom n sis for babysitting elder 3. Blk rumah b4 harith tanye we pg mane i asked him “harith pg mane? mommy cari kt one utama x jumpe pun” he replied “mommy cari kat old ke new one utama”. “at old wing”. “x jumpe lah sbb harith ade dekat new one utama” hihi

A friend called me asking if i can do an express order for her friend’s bachelorette party. Basically she already had few things in her mind and hoping we can materialize it. She gave us two days to get it done. I didnt even manage to take photos of the end product. Thanks to her for sharing the photos she took. They surely had a good time, party was held at Vistana Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
